Location

The workshop will be held at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Bay of Islands. The hotel is located within the Waitangi National Trust Reserve (map), surrounded by bush walks, a scenic golf course, the historic national Treaty House, and the beautiful waters of the Bay of Islands. Waitangi is a 5 minute walk from the town of Paihia, 20 km (12 miles) from Kerikeri airport (KKE), and 250 km north of Auckland.

The first two days (Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 January 2007) will be instructional lectures of an expository nature intended for students. Expository lectures will be given by  Prof. Jari Kaipio, Prof. Rowan Killip, and others.

The main workshop consisting of research-level talks will be held Wednesday 10 to Saturday 13 January, 2007.

The conference dinner is on Friday evening at Waikokopu Cafe (sample menu here) adjacent to the Copthorne. Drinks and stand-up starters from 6:30, dinner from 7:30.
Delegates partners and kids are all invited, and catered for.

Costs

The main workshop is free to New Zealand based participants.

Researchers based outside New Zealand are welcome to participate in the workshop. There is no registration fee, but international participants will need to pay their own accommodation costs and a small fee for conference attendance  -- please contact Colin Fox for further details.

Attendance at the summer workshop is still possible -- note however, that accommodation in Waitangi/Paihia is no longer available as part of registration. Please contact Colin Fox  if you would like to attend the conference.
