Practical Information


VISA to Australia

For international participants, please check whether you need an entry visa to Australia. If so, make sure to apply at least one month prior to your travel. If you need an official invitation letter for this purpose, please contact one of the local organisers.

Local transportation, parking and other services on campus

The most convenient transport from the airport to your hotel or the university is by taxi. The average cost is around $25 from airport to the city centre. The School of Mathematical Sciences is on levels 6 and 7 of the Ingkarni Wardli building. The School Office is located on level 6.

Restaurants and grocery stores

The University of Adelaide is located in the city centre, close to several food courts in Rundle Mall and many cafes and restaurants, for instance along Rundle Street. Fresh groceries can be purchased at Woolworths and Coles in Rundle Mall or at the Central Market.

Internet access

The University of Adelaide provides wireless access for visitors whose home institutions have Eduroam. For more information on how to set up Eduroam, please click here. If you need IT access to the University of Adelaide network, please contact one of the local organisers to fill out a visitor form at least 7 days prior to your arrival.

Travel funding

This event is co-sponsored by the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI). AMSI allocates a travel allowance to each of its member universities (for a list of members, click here).

Students or Early Career Researchers from AMSI member universities without access to a suitable research grant or other source of funding may apply to their Heads of School for travel and accommodation subsidy out of the departmental travel allowance. For more information, click here.
