There are several pathways into many of the Stage 3 courses; the diagrams below only show the preferred prerequisites.
You should check the course listings to see what other prerequisites are allowed.
Stage 3 Pure Mathematics courses often require MATHS 255 Principles of Mathematics as a prerequisite.
At Stage 3, a major in Applied Mathematics must contain MATHS 361 Partial Differential Equations; it is recommended that it also contain 362 and 363.
A major in Mathematics (sometimes referred to as Pure Mathematics) has less restrictions. It is recommended that it contain 332 and 320 or 328 if you are considering postgraduate study.
