PhD scholarship available: Differential Geometry, beginning 2011
A PhD scholarship is available within the Department of Mathematics, University of Auckland to work on the following project:
Marsden Project: The conformal geometry of submanifolds and natural PDE
The project would suit a very good student with strengths in one or more of the following areas: analysis, differential geometry, mathematical general relativity, complex analysis, Lie representation theory.
Amount: NZ$25,000 stipendium per annum plus fees, for 3 years.
The successful student will be supervised by Rod Gover and the project is part of research project with Principal Investigator Rod Gover and Associate investigators: Andreas Cap (University of Vienna), and Michael Eastwood, (Australia National University).
