Career workshops for Science students

Workshops
Shaun Pulman and Evelien van Vliet (Careers Consultants with University Career Services), will be holding career workshops on the following topics in Science 301.407 in the first half of semester 2.
- CVs and Cover letters for Science applications, 12-1pm, Wed 11 August
- Job search strategies for Science jobs, 12-1pm, Wed 25 August
- Interviews for Science positions, 12-1pm, Wed 15th September – venue tbc
- CVs and Cover letters for Science applications, 12-1pm, Wed 29th September– venue tbc
There are only 40 places available at each, so you need to register on CareerHub – www.auckland.ac.nz/careerhub
one-to-one sessions
Shaun and Evelien will also be holding 10-minute one-to-one sessions with Science students for all of semester 2. These will be held on Tuesdays from 12-2 in the Student Centre and Thursdays 12-2 in Sci-Space.
They will offer advice on the following:
- Researching a career in science
- Job applications – CVs, cover letters, psychometric testing and application forms
- Interview technique
- Job search and networking
All Science students are welcome to attend, regardless of what stage you are at in your degree – the earlier you start with career planning, the better prepared you will be. No appointment is required. See you there!
