- 29 February - Gene Golub Commemorative Day This meeting is part of the Gene Golub Around the World Events. Gene's friends and colleagues will gather on February 29, 2008, the date that would have been his 19th birthday, to celebrate his achievements in numerical analysis, recall Gene's links with Auckland and mourn his passing.
