- 06 January, 2008 NZMRI Conference on Conformal Geometry - The focus of the 2008 NZMRI Summer Workshop was Conformal geometry and geometric approaches to partial differential equations
- 30 January, LOGOS #15 - The NZ Pipeline: NZ Preliminary Data - Pipeline is preliminary phase, of a worldwide ICMI/IMU project to document on a worldwide scale the numbers of mathematics students, as they transition from secondary school to tertiary institutions to workplaces.
- 12 February, Barbara Miller-Reilly's retirement function - You are warmly invited to attend Barbara Miller-Reilly's retirement function, to recognise her contributions to Adults Learning Mathematics, The Student Learning Centre, EQUALS and the Department of Mathematics
- 18 February, Ivan Reilly's retirement function - To recognise his significant contributions to Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Mathematics Administration Nationwide and Departmental, School, Faculty and University Administration over almost four decades.
- 22 February, 11th Devonport Topology Festival in Honour of Ivan Reilly - The Devonport Topology Festival is a relaxed one day miniconference hosted by Dr Sina Greenwood. This year it is being held in honour of Professor Ivan Reilly who is retiring from our department after 37 years of service.
- 29 February, Gene Golub Commemorative Day - This meeting is part of the Gene Golub Around the World Events. Gene's friends and colleagues will gather on February 29, 2008, the date that would have been his 19th birthday, to celebrate his achievements in numerical analysis and mourn his passing .
- 30 March, Sudoku - A Sudoku Public lecture by Prof. Peter Cameron (Queen Mary College, University of London) - time and venue to be anounced
- 14 April, The Mathematics of Disease (4th workshop) - Workshop of the Centre of Mathematical Content for Teaching
- 30 April, Sudoku - Is it Mathematics? Public lecture by Prof Peter Cameron - This lecture will look at the mathematical origins of Sudoku and at a variant called ''symmetric Sudoku'' that has close links with finite geometry and error-correcting codes.

- 13 May, Statistics and the Environment - Whales and Rats - Second workshop in the CMCT series: Dr Rachel Fewster (Statistics) will talk about developing and using statistical methods to answer questions about the behaviour of two very different creatures - whales and rats.
- 07 June, Years 11, 12 and 13 Probability - This course will be particularly useful to teachers who want to enhance their confidence in delivering the curriculum or to extend their teaching range.
- 09 June, Applied Mathematics One-day Meeting - An Applied Mathematics One Day Meeting will be held at the University of Auckland on June 9th 2008. The day will include short talks on current research in Applied Mathematics and opportunities for informal exchange of ideas between participants.
- 14 July, GLADE 2008 Conference and Workshop - The GLADE 2008 meeting on numerical methods for differential equations, and related problems, will be held in Auckland during July 2008 and will consist of a one week conference followed by a one week workshop.
