This is to let you know what I consider the most significant contributions of Geza Freud from among the 134 publications listed in the JAT list from Volume 46, 1986.
Among the earlier results the Tauberian remainder estimates ([1], [5], [11]). The results on one-sided approximation ([16], [75], [97]) proved to be a powerful method in polynomial approximation (this is included in his book [65]).
Freud was among the first to recognize the significance of D. J. Newman's result on rational approximation of |x| from 1964, by generalizing it for classes of functions ([53], [54], [56], [57], [62], [64], [74]).
Certainly, his most influencial work was done in the theory of weighted polynomial approximation ([66], [73], [83], [91], [92], [98], [101], [102]). Related results are concerned with orthogonal polynomials on the real line ([105], [111]).
