Tight frames and Approximation

20-23 February 2018

High tide at Taipa beach and estuary

at Taipa, Doubtless Bay, New Zealand

This is the fourth meeting organised by the New Zealand Approximation Theory Group (following those in Christchurch 1999, Westport 2002 and Auckland 2005). The topic Tight frames and Approximation will be interpreted broadly. We plan to allocate lots of time without lectures for informal interactions, including the following working groups Taipa is 4.5 hours from Auckland and is easily reached by road (there is also an airport at Kerikeri). It is intended that some speakers will be driven from Auckland by minivan on Monday 19 February (with some scenic stops), and others will drive themselves. There is also a daily bus from Auckland to Taipa. The first and last days will be in Taipa, and the other two in Mangonui (a nearby historic seaside town) and in Honeymoon Valley (a native forest area 15 minutes inland from the Taipa river).
Currently confirmed speakers include:

Marcus Appleby (Sydney), Len Bos (Verona), Martin Buhmann (Giessen),
Oleg Davydov (Giessen), Steve Flammia (Sydney),
Markus Grassl (Max-Planck, Erlangen), Gary Greaves (Singapore), Bill Martin (Worcester),
Dustin Mixon (Ohio State), Kasso Okoudjou (Maryland), Ferenc Szollosi (Aalto)
